Stripped mixture screw

I tried adjusting the air mixture screw by turning it all the way in and counting the number of turns I backed it out. However when I turned it all the way in, it got stuck and I stripped the head out. I then tried a reverse thread type screw wxtracter, which broke off into the screw. At this point my bike would not start at all. I then realized that if I pull the choke out just a tiny bit, it will start but the idle is very low. I compensated by turning the idle adjustment screw until the idel sounded like a normal idle. Now I can ride the bike for 10-15 minutes like thes, and when it's warmed up, i can close the choke and it idles fine. Are there any disadvantages to running the bike like this? It runs fine this way, so I see no point in trying to get the screw out and replace it if I domn't have to.

Thanks,
Mike
